AI Sales Assurance — Privacy Policy

AI Sales Assurance ("the App", "we") is a Shopify app operated by Alexandre Des Lauriers (Bromont, Québec, Canada). It checks, in read-only mode, whether the product information that AI shopping agents receive from a Shopify store (price, availability, variants, links) matches the store's public product pages.

1. Information we collect

When a merchant installs the App, we collect only what is needed to provide the service:

  • Store information: the store's myshopify domain and the access scopes granted (readproducts, readmarkets).
  • Shopify access credentials: the access token issued by Shopify. It is encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM) and used only to read product and market data and to manage the App subscription.
  • Product data: product titles, prices, availability, variants, images and links that the store already exposes publicly or to AI shopping agents, as observed during checks.
  • Check results: findings, coverage, timestamps and technical evidence references (hashes) produced by our checks.
  • Notification settings (optional): an email address the merchant chooses to receive alerts and weekly reports.

    • We do not collect or store any personal information about the store's customers (no names, emails, addresses, orders or payment data). The App does not request access to customers or orders.

    2. How we use information

  • To run free and scheduled read-only checks of the store and display results in the Shopify admin.
  • To send the alerts and reports the merchant opted into.
  • To manage the subscription through Shopify Billing.

    • We never modify the store, never sell data, and never use store data for advertising.

    3. Sharing

    Data is processed by the following sub-processors, solely to operate the service. We do not share data with any other third party unless required by law.

    4. Retention and deletion

  • When the App is uninstalled, the access token is deleted immediately and scheduled checks stop.
  • Upon Shopify's shop/redact request (sent 48 hours after uninstall), we delete the store's installation record.
  • Check history may be kept for up to 12 months to provide history to returning merchants, then deleted. A merchant can request deletion at any time (see Contact).
  • We respond to Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks (customers/data_request, customers/redact, shop/redact). Because we hold no customer personal data, customer requests require no data export or deletion.

    • 5. Security

    Access tokens are encrypted at rest; all traffic uses HTTPS; access to production systems is restricted.

    6. Your rights

    Merchants may request access, correction or deletion of their data by contacting us. Residents of Québec, Canada, the EU/EEA, the UK and California may have additional rights under applicable law (including Québec's Law 25, PIPEDA, GDPR and CCPA).
